Plant to plate!

Plant to plate!

Do you enjoy gardening, growing and eating the fruits of your labours? Then join us on ‘Plant to Plate!’

The Estates and Facilities team are following the journey of a fruit tree’s annual cycle, from planting the tree, harvesting the fruit and then providing a cooking demonstration with the produce, with delicious samples and a mini ingredient pack to take home and recreate the recipe.

Feel free to join us for the whole series or join us when you can, there is no need to book you can meet us on the day.

The trees are being planted to provide accessible fruit and berries for all Staff and Students on campus. It is a pleasure to watch the trees over the seasons as the leaves begin to grow, flower and blossom and then gradually mature into the fruit.

All tools and equipment will be provided, and Barry our legendary Grounds Maintenance Guru will be on hand to demonstrate the process of planting a tree and answer all of your green fingered questions.

What to wear?

It’s advisable to wear something warm and waterproof that you don’t mind getting a little muddy, as you never know with our Yorkshire weather and it is all part of the fun!

Wellies or walking boots will help you be stable in any muddy ground.
