Our Visual Arts portfolio focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration and encourages a range of transferable skills for employment within a diverse world of art and culture. We aim to help you build the technical skills that will unleash your creativity and allow you to find the best medium to convey your ideas.
All our courses offer you the opportunity to undertake a placement year or professional practice opportunities, nationally and internationally*, are taught in our state-of-the-art Barbara Hepworth Building and you could even gain the Adobe** Certified Associate Accreditation in addition to your degree, at no extra cost.

My first placement was as an Assistant Photographer in Northumbria and my second was in Palma, Spain where I was the only photographer for a gallery. I would highly recommend people to take the opportunity to do a placement year.
