Every year the University awards a small number of Honorary Degrees at our graduation ceremonies. Our honorary award holders are a source of inspiration to our graduates and provide positive role models for their future. They are individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in a field or activity aligned to the mission and values of the University, or for their exceptional contribution to the University or local community.
A list of previous Honorary graduates is available on our website at Honorary graduates
We are now seeking nominations for the July and November 2025 ceremonies. Please note that only nominations from the University community will be considered and that we particularly welcome nominations that support the University’s commitment to equality and diversity.
Please read the Honorary Awards Guidelines before completing the Nomination Form. Eligible nominations will be considered by the Honorary Awards Committee each October, and recommendations will be made to the University’s Senate and Council as appropriate. The terms of reference for the Honorary Awards Committee can be accessed via the following link:
If you would like to make a nomination, please do so by 10 September 2024 at the latest.
