What is the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme?

The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) is a prestigious Advance HE award that recognises exceptional educators in higher education who have made a significant impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession. These individuals have demonstrated a commitment to advancing teaching practices, enhancing student learning experiences, and contributing to the wider education community.

Our commitment to exceptional teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do at the University of Huddersfield. Our staff rank in the top three in England for the proportion who hold doctorates, who have higher degrees, and hold teaching qualifications. We have also been awarded an outstanding Gold rating in all three aspects of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. This is the highest accolade attainable. We are proud to support and recognize our outstanding educators through initiatives like the NTFS. They demonstrated evidence of:

  • Individual excellence
  • Raising the profile of excellence
  • Developing excellence.
