“I always wanted to study in the UK since I was in high school. I chose to study in the UK because the term starts at September which I will not have to wait until February of the second year if I do it at Australia.
“Since I did my sixth form in Malaysia, I was categorized to the international students group and there were only a select number of universities in the UK recruiting international students for my course. The University of Huddersfield had a higher ranking in the Occupational Therapy course compared to other universities.
“At first, I wanted to pursue the course of speech and language therapy. Then, my mum’s friend who is a doctor suggested occupational therapy to me and had me working with an occupational therapist a few months to get an idea what an OT does. I found it quite interesting and started to love it.
“Huddersfield has everything you need like supermarkets, rail station, shopping malls, markets, post office, library and so on. You can easily reach anywhere you want in just few minutes.
“To be honest, I quite like the campus because everything is in the same area. It is not like some of the universities which are city campus where their buildings are all around the city and you will need to travel from a place to another to go to the library.
“My tutors are nice. They are lovely and always ready to give a helping hand when anyone in my class needs it. They are professional and I really like them.
“People in Huddersfield are nice and friendly.
“I want to be an occupational therapist, maybe in the UK a few years before back to Malaysia.”

"The facilities are very impressive; especially the laboratories and the tutors are always available to help out. I really appreciated their support and understanding of how to teach international students here. Huddersfield is very picturesque with lots to offer people of all ages and I made so many friends here from all over the world which was really special".
