“After finishing secondary school I decided to study abroad and improve my English. Following a meeting with representatives from the University of Huddersfield to my school and hearing so many positive things about Huddersfield, I applied to the University.
“My course allowed me to be creative and at the same time learn business which I hope will improve my career options.
“I think the University's great. It is a really friendly environment to study in. The town is nice with plenty of things to do and places to visit.
“My course offered a placement year which I completed in private tourism company in Amsterdam. I was working as part of the Group department and was involved with event and marketing related tasks.
“I found it very useful as I gained a new life and real work experience by working and living in another country abroad.
“That gave me a good level of confidence, improved my communication and language skills. As my work team was very multi-cultural, colleagues from Mexico, Russia, France, Poland, Italy and Holland, I got to chance to meet great people from many different countries.
“My advice for anyone thinking of studying abroad is that this is something you will remember all of your life. It’s amazing how you make friends from all over the world and learn so much about different cultures and languages. I am so happy Huddersfield offers it all.”

“My first impressions when I arrived at the University of Huddersfield were good; I was so pleased with how friendly and multi-cultural the town of Huddersfield is. I also like the beautiful Yorkshire landscape that surrounds the town; it’s very different to Estonia.
“The course is fantastic because I get to combine my computing skills with business knowledge and also I have opted to do a placement year which will be hugely advantageous. The tutors are extremely helpful and have given me plenty of support and encouragement as I am working and studying. I also like the library which is open very late which is a big help to me.
“I am looking to work in the public sector preferably in the UK and apply my knowledge to building a successful career following graduation from the University of Huddersfield.”
